Joseph Garrett Duggar was arrested in Arkansas on disturbing allegations against an underage girl

Joseph Garrett Duggar was accused of “lewd and lascivious conduct, including unlawful sexual activity with a minor,” the Bay County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

He was arrested in Arkansas, where he lives with his wife Kendra (née Caldwell) and their children Garrett, 7, and daughters Addison, 6, and Brooklyn, 4.

The couple reportedly may have a fourth child, but have not publicly confirmed the information.

Joseph was on a family vacation in Florida in 2020 when he allegedly behaved inappropriately toward an underage girl who was nine years old at the time.

The group lived in a residence on Danny Drive in Panama City Beach, and Joseph allegedly asked the child to sit on his lap several times.

At some point on vacation, he sat on the couch and allegedly asked the girl to sit next to him.

Joseph then covered her with a blanket and “tampered with the victim’s underwear.”

At that time, he touched her private parts and rubbed his hands on her thighs, the sheriff’s office said.

According to the victim’s report, Joseph later apologized for his actions and the aggressive behavior stopped.

Years later, authorities became involved after the victim’s father confronted Joseph on March 17, 2026.

The reality TV star also “admitted his actions” to the father and police officers.

The victim, now 14, participated in a forensic interview and “disclosed several incidents involving Duggar that occurred during a family vacation.”

After the out-of-state arrest, Joseph was “charged with lewd and lascivious conduct – abuse of a victim under 12 years of age and lewd and lascivious conduct of a person 18 years of age or older,” the sheriff’s office said.

He is expected to be extradited to Bay County, Florida.

The family vacation in question came years after Joseph and Kendra tied the knot in 2017.

After their first meeting in church, Joseph is said to have courted her for months and proposed to her at his sister Joy-Anna’s wedding.

They married a few months after proposing. Joseph was 23 and Kendra was 19.

Joseph was one of 19 siblings who became famous on the long-running show 19 kids and counting.

The series followed her ultra-conservative parents Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar for ten seasons from 2008 to 2015.

19 kids and counting was canceled following revelations about the eldest Duggar child, Josh Duggar, behaving inappropriately toward five children. Four of the victims were his own sisters.

Josh was sentenced in 2022 to 12.5 years in federal prison for receiving and possessing material depicting children engaging in sexually explicit content.

News of Joseph’s arrest sparked massive speculation online about the Duggar family.

Another claimed that “there was always something wrong with this family…”

“Run Kendra Run,” one said. Another wrote: “19 crimes and counting.”

“Seems to be a common theme and one that keeps happening in her family,” one said. “As I recall, they started abusing their sisters. And the parents didn’t do anything about it!”

“Y’all actually didn’t believe Josh was the ONLY one. Her dad is fucking creepy,” said another.
